Os artistas que mais faturaram prêmios foram Post Malone, Khalid, Lil Nas X. A cerimônia ainda contou com performances de BTS, Doja Cat e Demi Lovato
Na última quarta-feira (14), foi realizado o evento que homenageia os artistas que mais se destacaram nas paradas musicais pelo mundo durante este ano: o Billboard Music Awards 2020. A cerimônia estava prevista para o dia 29 de abril, mas em decorrência da pandemia do coronavírus só foi realizada ontem, no Dolby Theatre, em Los Angeles.
O grande vencedor da noite foi Post Malone. O rapper americano levou para casa o prêmio em nove categorias, incluindo o de artista do ano. O segundo maior premiado do evento foi Khalid com cinco troféus, seguido por Lil Nas X e Billy Ray Cyrus, os quais faturaram quatro categorias com o hit “Old Town Road”. Uma das revelações em ascensão do pop, Billie Eilish foi a vencedora de três prêmios.
Nesta edição, o Billboard Music Awards foi apresentado pela cantora Kelly Clarkson. A premiação contou com performances de BTS, Bad Bunny, Doja Cat, Demi Lovato e John Legend. Um dos momentos mais emocionantes foi protagonizado por Legend. Ele cantou “Never Break” e dedicou a canção para sua esposa, Chrissy Teigen. O casal anunciou que o bebê que esperavam morreu após o parto há dias atrás.
